IV. Application:
This product is used as a perfume in oral medicine and pharmaceutical preparations, and also used as a solvent and intermediate for the manufacture of pesticides, spices, coatings, cosmetics, inks and fiber dyeing aids.

Uses of methyl salicylate in agriculture:
1. Methyl salicylate can promote the drought resistance of crops, promote the germination speed of seeds, and effectively avoid crop diseases and insect pests.
2. Soak wheat seeds in 0.05% methyl salicylate solution for about 24 hours, which can effectively enhance the ability of wheat to withstand winter and spring drought. Similarly, spraying 1% methyl salicylate solution evenly on wheat seeds can also enhance the drought resistance of wheat.
3. Improve the emergence rate of crops: soak crop seeds in 0. 05% methyl salicylate solution for 24 hr, then take out and sun-drying to promote wheat growth
4. Avoid crop diseases: spraying 0.03%~0.05% methyl salicylate solution can reduce crop diseases and insect pests
5. Reduce the flower and fruit drop of crops: irrigate 0. 01% methyl salicylate solution in crops or spray 0. 05 - 0.1% methyl salicylate solution on leaves
Increasing the production of food crops: Spraying 0.03%~0.05% methyl salicylate solution at branching stage and flowering stage can increase yield
7. Promote the survival rate of vegetable roots and tubers: the root or tuber of vegetable can be soaked in 0. 05% methyl salicylate solution for 4 - 6 hours, then taken out and dried in that shade, and then cultivated. the survival rate can reach more than 97%, and the seedling stage can be shortened by 2 - 3 days
8. Improve the edibility of solanaceous vegetables: Spraying 0.03%~0.05% methyl salicylate solution on solanaceous vegetables at the early stage of fruit growth can avoid transpiration of water in the fruit and prolong the picking period.
9.Extend the fresh-keeping period of flowers: according to the size of the flower plant and the amount of water in the vase, put 1 ~3 pieces of methyl salicylate, which can make the flowers inserted in the bottle stick to longer time.
